What do the different listing connection errors mean?

If you are encountering errors while trying to connect locations to your Google, Facebook, or other accounts under Listings → Premium Listings, this FAQ explains what each of the error messages means and how you can solve them.

GMB Error 1: Listings Inaccessible

Listing connected with the GMB group is not accessible. Please reconnect.

In this scenario, your Synup account and Google My Business account are still connected; however, Synup is not able to access the GMB listing for the location you are viewing with that GMB account. This could be because the listing was moved from one GMB account to another or linked the GMB account no longer has rights to manage that listing.

Click on Reconnect and you’ll be directed to Google so you can link this listing with the right GMB account that has the rights to manage it.

GMB Error 2: Connection Expired

Connection to the account has expired and requires renewal.

Synup is unable to access the entire GMB account and cannot manage any of the locations linked within. Clicking on Renew will take you to the Google page where you can renew the connections between your Synup and Google accounts.

If a single Google account is used to manage multiple listings in your Synup profile, then you need to renew the connection only once. Synup will automatically renew other connections by itself for locations managed via that GMB account.

GMB Error 3: Listings Suspended

Listing connected to the account has been suspended. Click here to know more.

In this scenario, your Synup and GMB accounts are still linked. However, the listing itself has been suspended by Google. Please refer to this Google help article to learn more about how to resolve this issue.

Facebook Error 1: Listing Inaccessible

Facebook page connected to the account is not accessible. Please reconnect.

In this scenario, your Synup account and Facebook account are still connected; however, Synup is not able to access the Facebook page you are viewing via the linked Facebook account.

Click on Reconnect and you’ll be directed to Facebook so you can link this listing with the right Facebook account that has the rights to manage it.

Facebook Error 2: Expired

Connection to the account has expired and requires renewal.

The Facebook Authorization token that connects your Synup and Facebook accounts needs to be renewed every 90 days for security reasons. If this token expires, you’ll see the above message asking you to renew Synup’s connection with Facebook. If you manage multiple Facebook listings via a single Synup-Facebook account link, you only need to renew the connection once and Synup will automatically renew the connection for other listings.

Facebook Error 3: Credentials Invalid

Insufficient permissions for Facebook page connected to the account. Please reconnect.

In this scenario,

  • Your Synup and Facebook accounts are still linked.
  • Your Facebook account is able to access the page associated with the listing you are viewing

The problem is that your linked Facebook account no longer has permission to post anything to the Facebook page’s wall. Clicking on Reconnect will take you to Facebook’s authorization page where you can link an account that has the necessary permissions.
